This is useful, if you want regular backup on a computer where nobody logs in to start backup program. You can define backup program as a Service, which starts automatically when PC boots. Together with command line parameters, you can define regular daily backups, even when nobody logs in on PC, for example on a Windows server computer.
To install Stratesave as a sService, in Macro Editor load the macro and run command Install Service... from Menu Edit. This will run the Service installation wizard.
To uninstall the Service, in Macro Editor use command Uninstall Service... from Menu Edit.
Please note:
1.When backup program is run as a Windows Service, it is normally not visible. There is the Remote Backup Control Program to control the backup program.
2.It is best security policy to not make the Service visible and not allow it to interact with the desktop. If it is still allowed to interract with the desktop, when Stratesave runs as a service or under the SYSTEM account, most menu commands are disabled, and only operator-specific commands (start/stop the backup) are allowed. The macro (backup plan) should be specified in advance with commandline parameters.
