Examples how to configure automatic backup with commandline parameters
"Commandline parameters" are the parameters passed to the Stratesave program,
when it is started.
How to create a shortcut on your desktop, which runs 1 backup according to backup plan, then exits:
With the mouse on the Windows screen desktop (not in program), click right mouse button.
In the menu that pops up, select New, then Shortcut. There should come the dialog "Create Shortcut".
Push Browse... button. Goto directory where you installed
Stratesave (usually C:\Stratesave 7.0), and select Stratesave, click OK.
You should be back in "Create shortcut" dialog, and the field "Command line" should be like
"C:\Stratesave 7.0\Stratesave.exe". Add your desired command line parameters here, so the whole line will be:
"C:\Stratesave 7.0\Stratesave.exe" /STARTBACKUP /EXITAFTERBACKUP
Press OK to leave "Create Shortcut"-dialog.
When you click on the new shortcut on the desktop, Stratesave will run the backup, then exit.
Example of automatic backup with Startup group:
This example shows how to a create a Stratesave commandline entry in the Startup group:
Press Window's Start button, then Settings -> Taskbar... The dialog that appears should be "Taskbar Properties".
Goto dialog folder "Start Menu Programs", press button Add... Enter desired command line, for example:
"C:\Stratesave 7.0\Stratesave.exe" /STARTBACKUP /PERIOD=SCHEDULED /HIDEMINIMIZED
Click Next>-button and select Startup-folder. Whenever you logon to Windows, Stratesave will run the backups
automatically and repeatedly as defined in backup plan. (/EXITAFTERBACKUP in the first example exits
Stratesave after 1 backup is done).
Here you have to logon under your username for Stratesave to be run.
If you install Stratesave as a Windows Service, it will be run even if you don't logon the user.
You can also control the behaviour with the commandline parameters passed to the service.
